2011 Hairstyle Trends - Going Sideways

With the new year around the corner, the next few posts are dedicated to 2011 Hairstyle Trends. One hairstyle which you will be seeing more of is side swept bangs, deep side parted hair styles and hairstyles worn to the side.

Natural texture is popular for 2011 hairstyles as well as playing with different textures in one hairstyle. To create the straight, smooth, glossy hair like you see in the pictures below, you can count on your flat iron. For perfectly bouncy curls all you need is a 1.5 curling iron, also perfect for creating wavy hairstyles which you will see more of in my next post!

How to Style Side Bangs

One of the more popular hairstyle trends for fall 2010 includes side bangs but for some, styling your bangs can be tricky. Here are a few simple tips to help you style and set your bangs.

How to Style Side Bangs -

  • Start by creating a deep side part on the side in which you want your bangs to start from.
  • Using a flat brush, brush your bangs down while drying them. Be sure to hold your hair dryer directly above your bangs and aim it downwards.
  • If your bangs end up with too much volume or don't lie flat go over them using a flat iron.
  • To keep bangs in place and soft looking spray a hairbrush with flexible hold hairspray and gently brush over your bangs in the direction in which you want them to lay.
